Ben Grannis and I became friends while working together at Overland Summers, an organization that runs outdoor adventure trips for 4th-12th graders each summer. Overland is strongly affiliated with the non-profit organization TextLess Live More, a student-led, peer-to-peer national awareness campaign with a mission to end distracted driving and promote digital wellness.
In August of 2021, Ben set off on a 7,000+ mile self-supported solo bikepacking adventure around the United States, riding to raise money for TextLess Live More. Ben asked for my assistance with this huge project, and I was excited to help. In addition to helping Ben with route planning (one of my favorite projects!), he also needed a logo.
The goal was to create something that, while simple in design, also clearly communicated the mission - riding a bike for a good cause. After a few iterations of design and color tweaks, we landed on the result above.
Ben’s almost hit his fundraising goal of $50,000…looking to support Ben’s cause? You can do so on his website - linked here - or hear his TedX speech here.
